Articulate 360 pricing and cost, plus Storyline and Rise pricing
Articulate 360 AI costs $1,749 per author seat a year on Teams and $1,449 on Personal. Storyline and Rise come only inside that seat, and the bundled Reach LMS counts a learner again in every 30-day period they train.
If you need required training live without a designer, CompanyLMS drafts the course from your policy and tracks every certificate from $6 per active learner a month.
Courses, onboarding & compliance · one platform · flat per seat
Articulate 360 is an authoring studio priced per author seat, with a small LMS attached. CompanyLMS is an LMS with authoring built in, priced per active learner, with admins free. Buy Articulate if you employ designers who live in Storyline; buy CompanyLMS if the job is running onboarding and compliance with dated records.

Buying guide
Articulate 360 pricing, explained plan by plan
What each Articulate plan costs, what changed since 2024, and when an LMS with authoring built in is the cheaper purchase.
How much does Articulate 360 cost?
Articulate 360 AI costs $1,749 per seat per year on the Teams plan and $1,449 per seat per year on the Personal plan, billed annually in USD. A seat is one course author, not one learner. Frontline, the newer product for teams outside L&D, starts at $500 a year for unlimited seats and 100,000 AI credits. Hybrid, which bundles both on one contract, is quoted by sales.
| Plan | Published price | Who it is for | What is not in it |
|---|---|---|---|
| Articulate 360 AI Teams | $1,749 per seat a year | Company-owned seats for instructional designers; seats can be reassigned | AI avatars, translation and training kits spend credits bought separately |
| Articulate 360 AI Personal | $1,449 per seat a year | Freelancers and independent authors who own the subscription themselves | Articulate tells company buyers to choose Teams so the company owns the seat |
| Frontline | From $500 a year, unlimited seats, 100,000 credits | Managers and subject experts turning know-how into short training kits | No Storyline, no Rise, no SCORM, xAPI or cmi5 export, no Reach LMS |
| Extra credits | From $250 for 50,000, then 25,000-credit steps | Heavy use of AI avatars, translation or kits | Credits expire at the end of the term and do not roll over |
| Reach 360 Pro | From $3,600 a year for 1,200 active learners | Teams past the 300 active learners a year included with Teams | Sized by sales above the entry band |
| Hybrid | Custom quote | Organizations buying 360 AI and Frontline together | Price not published |
Academic buyers pay less: Articulate lists $1,311 per Teams seat and $1,086 for Personal with the education discount. There is a 14-day free trial on both 360 AI and Frontline.
Articulate 360 price increase, what changed since 2024
The seat price went up $250 a year on both plans. Articulate's own support note set Teams at $1,499 and Personal at $1,199 from July 1, 2024. The current pricing page, now branded Articulate 360 AI, lists $1,749 and $1,449. That is a 17 percent rise per Teams seat and 21 percent per Personal seat.
The same note says customers on multi-year locked pricing keep their rate until the contract renews. If you are on a 2024 renewal, budget for the new number at the next one, and ask your rep whether a multi-year term still locks the price, because that is the only lever Articulate names in writing.
Articulate storyline pricing and Rise pricing
Storyline 360 and Rise 360 are not sold on their own; both come inside an Articulate 360 AI seat. The pricing page lists three offers only (Articulate 360 AI, Frontline and Hybrid), and its plan matrix marks Storyline and Rise as included in 360 AI and Hybrid and not included in Frontline. So the real Storyline price is $1,749 a seat a year on Teams, or $1,449 on Personal if you are an individual.
That matters when only one person on your team actually uses Storyline and the others just need to publish simple courses. Everyone who authors needs a seat. Frontline is cheaper per head, but it cannot export a SCORM package and does not include Storyline or Rise, so it is a different tool, not a cheap Storyline.
Does Articulate 360 include an LMS?
Yes, a small one. Every Articulate 360 AI Teams subscription includes Reach with room for 300 active learners per year. Past that you move to Reach 360 Pro, priced on active learners and starting at $3,600 a year for 1,200 of them. Read the unit carefully: Articulate support counts each unique learner with training activity in a 30-day period, and its own example says 50 employees who resume a course in the next 30-day period count as 50 more. So 300 a year is 25 people training every month, and the $3,600 band is 100 people training every month. Reach registers learners by SSO, QR code, link or CSV, sends reminders through email, Slack or Microsoft Teams, and exports CSV reports.
What the Reach product page does not describe is the compliance side: certificates that expire, recertification on a schedule, role-based onboarding paths or a skills matrix. If those are the reason you are buying, test them in the trial or ask for them in writing. That is the job CompanyLMS is built for, and on our Business plan it is in the price.
What Articulate 360 costs for a real US team
The figures below are our arithmetic on the published rates, not quotes, billed annually. The key is the unit. Reach counts one active learner for each person who trains in a 30-day period, so an employee who trains every month uses 12 a year. CompanyLMS also bills per active learner per month. That makes the two directly comparable.
| Scenario | Learner credits a year | Articulate 360 AI Teams | CompanyLMS |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 author, 250 staff, one annual compliance course each | About 250 | $1,749 (fits the 300 in Reach Starter) | Business $7 a learner in the month they train, 10-learner minimum |
| 1 author, 50 staff training every month | 600 | $5,349 ($1,749 plus Reach 360 Pro from $3,600 for 1,200) | $1,800 on Team, $3,600 on Business |
| 1 author, 100 staff training every month | 1,200 | $5,349 | $3,600 on Team, $7,200 on Business |
| 3 authors, 250 staff training every month | 3,000 | $5,247 in seats plus Reach 360 Pro sized by sales above the 1,200 band | $9,000 on Team, $18,000 on Business |
The honest reading: at the Reach 360 Pro entry band, Articulate charges $3 per active learner per 30-day period, the same unit and the same rate as CompanyLMS Team billed annually, and then adds $1,749 for every author. For once-a-year training delivered to a few hundred people, Articulate plus the bundled Reach is the cheaper purchase. For monthly onboarding and compliance with fewer than a few hundred learners, CompanyLMS usually costs less, because admins who build courses are not billed and there is no author seat.
Price is not the only difference. CompanyLMS Business includes role-based onboarding paths, certificate expiry with reminders and a skills matrix; the Reach product page does not describe those. Many teams build a few showcase courses in Storyline and run the program in an LMS; you can bring SCORM packages into a SCORM compliant LMS and keep the authoring seats you already pay for.
Is Articulate 360 worth the money?
For a professional instructional designer, usually yes; for an HR or operations lead who needs required training live next week, often no. Storyline is still the benchmark for custom interactive courses, and the $1,749 seat now includes AI course drafting, review links, an AI tutor for learners and SCORM, xAPI and cmi5 export.
The seat pays off when someone uses Storyline daily. It does not pay off when the real job is getting 120 people through harassment prevention, HIPAA or forklift refreshers with a dated record. In that case you are paying for an authoring studio to produce material that a template and your existing policy would cover. See what compliance training software costs per employee before you buy seats for that.
Is there a cheaper alternative to Articulate 360?
It depends which half of Articulate you are replacing. For authoring alone, iSpring Suite is the usual comparison; read what iSpring Suite and iSpring LMS cost. For the LMS half, platforms that include authoring remove the per-author seat entirely: 360Learning builds collaborative authoring into its per-user price, and CompanyLMS includes Course Studio on every plan, with admins who build and assign courses not counted as learners.
If your shortlist is really a corporate LMS rather than an authoring tool, start with the corporate LMS platforms compared on what you actually pay, then come back to Articulate only if you have content only Storyline can build.
