Paycom LMS and Paycom learning management system alternatives
Yes, Paycom has an LMS. Paycom Learning is part of Paycom's single HR and payroll database, and Paycom's own pricing table puts it in the Complete package, not Core.
Paycom prints no price for either package. Here is what Paycom's own pages show, and when a standalone LMS is the better buy.
Courses, onboarding & compliance · one platform · per active learner
Paycom Learning is a module of Paycom's single-database HCM, listed only in the Complete package and priced by quote. CompanyLMS is a standalone corporate LMS for onboarding, compliance and certification training, priced per active learner at $4 or $7 a month ($3 and $6 billed annually) and bought online, whatever payroll system you run.
Side by side
Paycom Learning vs CompanyLMS, honestly
A fair look at what each does well. Both are capable tools. Here is where they differ.
| What matters | CompanyLMS | Paycom Learning |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | $4 per active learner a month on Team, $7 on Business, $3 and $6 billed annually, Enterprise $12 | None. Paycom says each quote is customized to the tools a company needs and its number of employees |
| Which package includes it | Every plan is the LMS. No HR package to upgrade first | Complete only. Paycom's Core vs. Complete table marks the learning management system as not included in Core |
| Content standards | SCORM 1.2 and 2004, plus video, PDF and native authoring | SCORM 1.1, 1.2 and 2004 (2nd, 3rd and 4th editions), Tin Can API and AICC, as Paycom lists them |
| Paycom employee sync | No named Paycom connector. CSV learner import on every plan, SSO and SCIM on Enterprise | Native. The employee record already lives in Paycom's single database |
| Course content | You build or upload your own courses, with templates | Built-in foundational courses at no added cost, plus paid collections from Paycom's Content Marketplace |
| Best suited for | US companies of about 25 to 5,000 employees that want training assigned, renewed and provable on a rate they can read first | Paycom clients already on the Complete package who want learning on the same login as payroll |

The shortlist
Paycom LMS alternatives and what each one charges
Seven options a US company on Paycom weighs. Three publish a rate you can read today: CompanyLMS, TalentLMS and MoodleCloud. The other four quote. Connector claims come from each vendor's own integrations page, checked in October 2026.
| Platform | Best for | Pricing model | What stands out | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyLMS | US companies from about 25 to 5,000 employees that want training assigned, renewed and provable, on a rate they can see before buying | Published. Team $4 and Business $7 per active learner a month, or $3 and $6 billed annually. Team has a 25 learner minimum, Business 10. Enterprise $12. No implementation fee | Compliance training and certification tracking with automatic renewal reminders and a per-employee audit trail, without changing your Paycom package | No named Paycom connector. Learners come in by CSV import, or by SSO and SCIM on Enterprise, and we play SCORM but not Tin Can or AICC |
| Paycom Learning | Paycom clients already on Complete who want training on the same record as payroll | Quoted. Included in Paycom's Complete package, not in Core | Native employee data, learning paths by role, location or certification, the widest file support in this list, and built-in compliance courses at no added cost | You cannot buy it without Paycom HCM, and moving from Core to Complete changes your whole HR quote |
| SkyPrep | Mid-sized companies that want an LMS with a named Paycom integration | Quoted. Plans start at 100+ active users and the pricing page shows no dollar figure | SkyPrep announced a Paycom integration in April 2024, the only one of the LMS vendors we checked to name Paycom | Its pricing page puts API access and SSO in Premium rather than Lite, so check which plan the Paycom sync needs |
| TalentLMS | Small and mid-sized teams that want a published rate and a fast start | Published. Core starts at $119 a month for 1 to 40 users, with bands up to 801 to 1,000 users | The whole price card is public, and SAML SSO and the API are on the cheapest paid tier | Paycom is not named on its integrations page |
| LearnUpon | Companies training several distinct audiences through separate portals | Quoted, with a published 100 user minimum | A long list of named HR integrations, including Paycor | Paycom is not named on its integrations page |
| Docebo | Large enterprises that want AI features and a big integration catalog | Quoted, billed on monthly, yearly or registered active users | Mature enterprise feature set and a wide connector catalog | Paycom is not named on its integrations page, and the price arrives only after a sales cycle |
| MoodleCloud | Small, budget-bound programs that can live without any HR integration | Published annual plans from $160 for 50 users to $2,100 for 750. Australian dollars are the billed currency and the US figure is a conversion | The cheapest published per-user cost in the category | Its FAQ states you cannot install plugins or integrations on any plan, so there is no route to Paycom |
Pricing reflects each vendor's own pricing or help pages where they exist, and labelled third-party data where they do not. Most vendors quote privately, so treat ranges as planning anchors and confirm with each vendor.
Buying guide
Paycom Learning, read from Paycom's own pages
These facts come from Paycom's Paycom Learning, Content Marketplace, Certification Management and pricing pages, and from the integrations pages of the LMS vendors named below.
Does Paycom have an LMS?
Yes. Paycom sells Paycom Learning, listed under Talent Management in Paycom's single HR and payroll software. Its product page describes learning paths configured by skill, workplace, industry or compliance need, assignment by location, role or certification requirement, a Course Status Dashboard, and quizzes with multiple-choice, true-false, drop-down and short-answer questions.
Two features are unusual. Video Content Creator lets trainers and managers record and upload training videos from the Paycom mobile app, and Performance Evidence lets employees record short videos showing they understood a lesson. Admins are notified when an employee uploads a certificate for approval.
So the real question for most buyers is not whether Paycom has an LMS. It is whether you want training tied to your payroll package and your payroll contract.
How much does Paycom LMS cost?
Paycom does not publish a price for Paycom Learning or for Paycom as a whole. Its pricing page says: "With Paycom, each quote is customized to the functionality a company needs and the number of employees. A one-time implementation fee is included, while ongoing support from a dedicated specialist is provided to clients at no cost."
What the page does publish is a Core vs. Complete table, and it settles the packaging question. In the HR Management block, Core includes document management, manager self-service and personnel action forms. The learning management system and certification management rows are marked unavailable on Core and included on Complete, together with benefits administration, COBRA administration, 401(k) reporting, succession planning, text messaging and workforce surveys.
In practice, a Paycom client on Core who wants an LMS is pricing an upgrade of the whole package, not a training module. That is the main reason Paycom customers look at a standalone LMS: not because Paycom Learning is weak, but because its price is buried in a bigger decision.
Is Paycom LMS SCORM compliant?
Yes, and it reads wider than most. Paycom lists the package types Paycom Learning supports as:
| Standard | Paycom Learning | CompanyLMS |
|---|---|---|
| SCORM 1.1 | Yes | No |
| SCORM 1.2 | Yes | Yes |
| SCORM 2004 (2nd, 3rd and 4th editions) | Yes | Yes |
| Tin Can API (xAPI) | Yes | No |
| AICC | Yes | No |
This is one place where Paycom genuinely beats us, and we would rather say so here. If your vendor content ships as xAPI or AICC, or you need SCORM 1.1 for an old library, Paycom Learning plays it and CompanyLMS does not. For most corporate programs built in Articulate, Captivate or iSpring, SCORM 1.2 or 2004 covers everything, and that is what we play.
Which LMS integrates with Paycom?
Very few name it. Paycom's pricing page sells the opposite of an integration catalog: it lists "value over time with no APIs or third-party consultants" and answers "Are integrations included in Paycom pricing?" with "Because Paycom operates on a single database we built, no third-party integrations are required."
| LMS vendor | Names Paycom on its own site? | What that means |
|---|---|---|
| SkyPrep | Yes. Announced a Paycom integration in April 2024 | The only vendor in this check with a named Paycom connector. Confirm the plan tier and the fields it syncs |
| LearnUpon | No | Names Paycor and other HR systems, not Paycom |
| Absorb | No | Not on its integrations page |
| TalentLMS | No | Not on its integrations page |
| Docebo | No | Not on its integrations page |
| 360Learning | No | Not on its integrations page |
For everyone else, the working pattern is a scheduled employee export from Paycom's Report Center loaded into the LMS. That is how CompanyLMS works today too: a CSV import of names, emails, roles and managers on any plan, or SSO and SCIM provisioning on Enterprise. It is not a live sync, and we would rather you plan for that than discover it later.
What Paycom Learning content costs extra
Paycom splits content into two kinds. Built-in courses are included "at no additional cost" for "unlimited use" by every Paycom Learning client, covering foundational topics such as HIPAA basics, preventing discrimination and harassment, workplace ethics, diversity and inclusion, cybersecurity and equal employment opportunity.
Everything deeper comes from the Content Marketplace, where Paycom says thousands of courses in multiple languages are "ready for immediate purchase." Collections are organized by industry: construction, healthcare, hospitality, manufacturing, safety, transportation and higher education. A footnote adds that users must have purchasing privileges on their company's Paycom account. Paycom shows no prices for these collections on its public pages.
So a realistic Paycom Learning budget has three lines: the Complete package, the one-time implementation fee Paycom says is included in the quote, and whatever Marketplace collections your industry needs.
Paycom certification management vs an LMS
Paycom also sells Certification Management, and it is easy to confuse with the LMS. It tracks professional licenses and certifications that employees upload, such as forklift operator certifications, commercial driver's licenses, HAZWOPER 40 cards, food handling certificates, CPR and first aid and nursing licenses. Paycom says it "automatically notifies employees within 30 days of a certification's expiration," and submitted certificates go to a review queue for a manager to approve.
That is record keeping for credentials earned elsewhere. It does not deliver the course. If you need to train people and certify them yourself, for example an annual safety course with a quiz and a certificate that expires in twelve months, you need the LMS side, which on Paycom is also Complete only.
In CompanyLMS the two are one workflow: the course, the quiz, the certificate, its expiry date and the renewal reminder live on the same employee record.
What Paycom Learning does well

It is worth being fair, because for some companies it is the right answer.
If you are already on Paycom Complete, the LMS is already in your contract and new hires appear with no file feed at all. Courses can be assigned through Documents and Checklists as part of onboarding, required training can be reported from Report Center, and the built-in compliance courses mean a small HR team has something to assign on day one. Its content standards list is broader than ours.
If your training is mostly compliance, your HR team lives in Paycom, and you are on Complete anyway, staying in the suite is reasonable. The case for a standalone LMS is a published price, no package upgrade, and certification tracking that delivers the course as well as recording it.
How to choose between Paycom Learning and a standalone LMS
The decision mostly follows which Paycom package you are on.
Stay with Paycom Learning if you are already on Complete, your content is SCORM, xAPI or AICC, and a single login for payroll and training matters more than a separate price.
Choose a standalone LMS if you are on Core and do not want to reprice your whole HR package for training, if you train people who are not on Paycom (contractors, franchisees, seasonal staff), or if you want certifications delivered and renewed in the same system with a rate you can read first.
| Training-only scenario, 150 employees | What you pay for | Year one, list price |
|---|---|---|
| CompanyLMS Business, billed annually | $6 per active learner a month, idle accounts not billed | $10,800 if all 150 train every month |
| CompanyLMS Team, billed annually | $3 per active learner a month, 25 learner minimum | $5,400 if all 150 train every month |
| Paycom Learning | Moving from Core to Complete, quoted per employee and tools | Not published |
| SkyPrep | Quoted, plans from 100+ active users | Not published |
The CompanyLMS figures are our own published list prices. Paycom and SkyPrep publish no figure to compare against, so ask each for a written training-only quote at your headcount before you decide.
Why teams pick CompanyLMS
One platform for courses, onboarding, compliance and certifications
A rate you can read before the meeting
Paycom answers "How much does Paycom typically cost?" with "Pricing varies based on workforce size and selected tools and services." CompanyLMS publishes its per-learner rate and bills only learners who were active that month.
No package upgrade to get training
On Paycom, an LMS means moving to Complete, which also brings benefits administration, COBRA, succession planning and more. CompanyLMS is bought on its own by whoever runs training, and nothing else in your HR contract changes.
Certifications that renew themselves
CompanyLMS tracks expiry dates per employee, sends renewal reminders on its own and keeps an audit trail of assignments, completions and certificates, ready to export as CSV when an auditor or insurer asks.
