Buying guide

HiBob Learning, read from HiBob's own pages

These facts come from HiBob's Learning page, its pricing page and FAQ, its Marketplace listings and its developer documentation for the Bob Learning API, all read on 9 October 2026.

Does HiBob have an LMS?

Yes. HiBob sells a module called Learning that sits inside Bob, its HR platform. HiBob describes it as "a modern, intuitive Learning Management System (LMS) built directly into the Bob platform" that lets you "create, assign, track, and analyze learning journeys." Employees use it from the same login and the same mobile app they already use for time off and documents.

Here is what the Learning page lists, read on 9 October 2026:

AreaWhat HiBob says Learning does
Course buildingAI course generator and AI course description generator, multi-contributor authoring, uploads of PDFs, videos and SCORM files, embeds from YouTube and Google Drive
AssignmentBy role, by milestone such as onboarding or promotion, or by audience segment, with task-triggered learning workflows
ComplianceCourse due dates, completion tracking, audit-ready reports, automatic reminders and reassignment, imports of legacy reports from a previous LMS
FormatsLive sessions and offline learning, quizzes, tests, course ratings, mobile microlearning
Content librariesBuilt-in integrations with Go1, LinkedIn Learning and Udemy, "note that a separate content subscription is required"
AnalyticsCourse dashboards, progress in Bob Companion, learning data linked to performance and retention metrics

Two things are missing from that page. It does not mention certificates with expiry dates or recertification cycles, and it names SCORM as the only content standard you can upload. If your training includes licenses or certifications that lapse, such as forklift, food handler or state-mandated refreshers, ask the HiBob rep to show the expiry workflow in the demo rather than assuming it is there.

How much does HiBob Learning cost?

How a HiBob quote for training is built. Bob Core is priced per employee and sits in every plan. The Learning module is added on top and quoted. Go1, LinkedIn Learning and Udemy content needs its own separate subscription.Three lines on the bill for training in HiBobBob CoreEvery plan. Priced per employee, quotedLearning moduleAdded to Core. Quoted, no public rateCourse contentGo1, LinkedIn Learning or Udemy, each a separate subscriptionSource: HiBob pricing FAQ and Learning page, read 9 October 2026

HiBob does not publish a price for Learning or for any other part of Bob. The pricing page is a three-step form that asks for your headcount band (1 to 49, 50 to 199, 200 to 999 or 1,000+), which needs you want covered (Learning is one of the checkboxes) and your email, and then a rep sends "a tailored quote."

The FAQ on that page explains how the number is built. "Pricing is typically based on the number of employees and the modules you need." "HiBob pricing is generally calculated on a per-employee basis." And: "Every plan includes access to Bob's Core HR platform, with the option to add modules and integrations." HiBob lists Core as the AI Companion, employee database, document management, time off, lifecycle workflows, integrations, analytics and reporting and the mobile app. Learning is not in that list, so it is an added module on a per-employee quote.

For a training budget that means three separate numbers: the Core seat price for every employee, the Learning module on top, and a content subscription if you want Go1, LinkedIn Learning or Udemy courses inside it. None of them is printed anywhere. If you only need to train 40 frontline staff out of 300 employees, a per-employee module can cost more than the training is worth, because the quote counts the whole company.

By contrast, CompanyLMS pricing is published: $4 per active learner a month on Team (25-learner minimum) and $7 on Business, or $3 and $6 billed annually. Only people who were active in a month are billed, so a 40-person training group on Business annual costs $2,880 a year whatever your total headcount.

Which LMS integrates with HiBob?

HiBob's Marketplace has listings for several learning platforms. We read the three main corporate LMS listings on 9 October 2026, and each one is written by the LMS vendor, not by HiBob.

LMS with a HiBob Marketplace listingWhat the listing says syncsWrites completions back to HiBob?
LearnUponAdds new users from HiBob, sends invites, syncs user data to drive course and group enrollments, disables users removed from HiBob. Region EMEA and United StatesNot listed
Learn:Up (formerly WorkRamp)Creates a profile when an employee is added, deletes it when they leave, syncs custom attributes such as department or title so learners move between groupsNot listed
360LearningImports users, keeps adds, removals and updates in sync, lets admins map standard and custom fields, filter users and assign rule-based groups, sends error notificationsNot listed

All three are one-way: HiBob is the source of truth for who works there, and the LMS keeps its own training records. We also checked the Marketplace addresses where TalentLMS, Docebo and Absorb listings would sit, and none returned a page on 9 October 2026, so confirm with those vendors before you plan on a HiBob connector.

HiBob does have a way to bring progress back. Its developer documentation describes a Bob Learning API that lets an external learning provider register an integration, push its course catalog in bulk (up to 500 items per call) and submit xAPI statements with the verbs completed, passed and failed. The catch is written at the top of that page: "This API requires the Bob Learning module." So seeing outside LMS completions inside HiBob means paying for Learning as well as the outside LMS.

HiBob LMS integration and where your training records live

Training manager checking course completions and certification status on a laptop

For compliance training, the question an auditor asks is simple: show me who completed the course, when, and what they scored. With a one-way connector, that answer lives in the LMS, not in HiBob. That is fine as long as you know it, and it is how most HR platform and LMS pairs work. The risk is assuming the HiBob employee profile is the complete record when it is not.

The Bob Learning API has details worth knowing if your LMS vendor offers to build the write-back. The learner's email in each statement must match the work email of an active employee in Bob, so personal emails and offboarded staff fail. Each statement needs its own unique ID, and resubmitting one returns a conflict error. And statements with a verb HiBob does not recognize are "silently ignored," returning no error at all, so a vendor that reports attempted or progressed will look connected while nothing arrives. Ask for a test with your own sandbox account before you sign.

CompanyLMS does not have a HiBob Marketplace listing. You bring learners in from a HiBob employee report by CSV on every plan, or through SSO and SCIM on Enterprise, and completions, scores and certificate expiry dates stay in CompanyLMS with a per-employee audit trail you can export as CSV. For a deeper look at how other HR platforms handle this, see our HRIS and LMS integration guide and the LMS integrations comparison.

HiBob Learning for compliance training and certifications

HiBob's FAQ answers the compliance question directly: "You can set course due dates, track completions, and generate audit-ready reports. Automatic reassignment, reminders, and legacy data imports help you stay compliant at scale." That covers the annual harassment prevention cycle well, and assigning by milestone means a new hire in California can get the state course on day one without anyone remembering to send it.

What it does not describe is the content itself. HiBob does not sell its own compliance course library on the Learning page; the ready-made content comes from Go1, LinkedIn Learning or Udemy, each with "a separate content subscription." So a US employer that needs state-specific harassment prevention, HIPAA or OSHA courses either licenses one of those libraries, buys courses from a compliance vendor such as EasyLlama or Traliant, or writes its own.

How to choose an LMS for a HiBob company

Buy HiBob Learning if you are already on Bob, want training inside the same app employees open every day, and are comfortable negotiating another per-employee module. It is the least integration work of any option here, and its AI course drafting is useful for turning policies into first drafts.

Add LearnUpon, Learn:Up or 360Learning if you need what a dedicated LMS does better: customer or partner portals (LearnUpon), sales certification and AI role play (Learn:Up), or expert-authored peer learning (360Learning). Accept that training records live in that LMS unless the vendor builds against the Bob Learning API, which in turn needs the Learning module.

Choose a standalone, published-price LMS such as CompanyLMS if your training group is smaller than your headcount, you want certificate expiry and renewal reminders, and you would rather know the price before the demo. You can create a CompanyLMS account, import a HiBob employee report and have the first onboarding course assigned the same afternoon.

Why teams pick CompanyLMS

One platform for courses, onboarding, compliance and certifications

Pay for the people you train

HiBob quotes Learning per employee. CompanyLMS bills only learners active in a month, so a 40-person training group costs the same in a 300-person company as in a 60-person one.

Certifications that renew themselves

Mark any course as a certification with an expiry date. CompanyLMS reminds each person before it lapses and keeps a per-employee audit trail you can export as CSV.

A price before the demo

Our rate is on the pricing page. Import a HiBob employee report, assign the first onboarding path and see the bill before anyone books a call.

Good questions

HiBob Learning vs CompanyLMS, answered

Yes. HiBob sells a Learning module inside Bob that builds courses (including AI-drafted ones), uploads PDFs, videos and SCORM files, assigns training by role or milestone, tracks due dates and completions and produces audit-ready reports. It is added to Bob Core rather than included in it.

HiBob publishes no price. Its pricing FAQ says pricing is calculated per employee and depends on the modules you choose, every plan includes Core, and you get a tailored quote after a form and a call. Go1, LinkedIn Learning and Udemy content each need a separate subscription on top.

No. HiBob lists Core as the AI Companion, employee database, document management, time off, lifecycle workflows, integrations, analytics and the mobile app. Learning is a separate module you add, and the Bob Learning API documentation states that it requires the Bob Learning module to be enabled.

HiBob Marketplace listings exist for LearnUpon, Learn:Up (formerly WorkRamp) and 360Learning, all built by the LMS vendor. Each one provisions users from HiBob into the LMS, updates attributes and removes leavers. None of the three listings says completions are written back to HiBob.

Yes. The Bob Learning API lets an external learning provider register an integration, push and update its course catalog in bulk, archive content and submit xAPI statements for completed, passed and failed. It requires the Bob Learning module, and the learner email must match an active employee in Bob.

Yes, for uploads. HiBob's Learning page lists PDFs, videos and SCORM files as lesson formats, plus embeds from YouTube and Google Drive. The page does not mention xAPI or AICC packages; xAPI appears in the developer API, where outside providers use it to report progress.

The Learning page describes due dates, completion tracking, reminders, automatic reassignment and audit-ready reports, but it does not mention certificate expiry dates or recertification. Ask for that workflow in the demo. CompanyLMS sets an expiry date per employee and sends renewal reminders before it lapses.

Yes. HiBob lists built-in integrations with Go1, LinkedIn Learning and Udemy, and notes that a separate content subscription is required. You license the library from the provider and the courses appear in Bob Learning, so budget for both the Learning module and the library.

If your training group is small compared with your headcount, a per-learner LMS usually costs less than a per-employee module. CompanyLMS is $4 per active learner a month on Team or $7 on Business, imports learners from a HiBob report by CSV, and includes course authoring and certificate renewals.
