Paycor LMS and Paycor learning management system alternatives
Yes, Paycor has an LMS. Paycor Learning Management sits inside Paycor HCM, and Paycor prices it only on a call.
The connectors for other LMS platforms are mostly custom, one-way file drops. Here is what Paycor's own pages and Marketplace show.
Courses, onboarding & compliance · one platform · per active learner
Paycor Learning Management is a module of Paycor HCM, sold through Paycor sales with no published price, and Paycor has been owned by Paychex since April 2025. CompanyLMS is a standalone corporate LMS for onboarding, compliance and certification training, priced per active learner at $4 or $7 a month ($3 and $6 billed annually) and bought online, whatever payroll system you run.
Side by side
Paycor Learning Management vs CompanyLMS, honestly
A fair look at what each does well. Both are capable tools. Here is where they differ.
| What matters | CompanyLMS | Paycor Learning Management |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | $4 per active learner a month on Team, $7 on Business, $3 and $6 billed annually, Enterprise $12 | None. The LMS page has a consultation form, and none of the four small business bundle cards lists the LMS |
| How it is bought | On its own, by whoever owns training, on a card | With Paycor HCM, through a Paycor sales conversation |
| Content standards | SCORM 1.2 and 2004, plus video, PDF and native authoring | SCORM. Paycor's FAQ answers "Is Paycor's LMS SCORM or xAPI compliant?" by naming SCORM only |
| Paycor employee sync | No named Paycor connector. CSV learner import on every plan, SSO and SCIM on Enterprise | Native. The employee record already lives in Paycor |
| Built-in course library | No third-party library. You build or upload your own courses, with templates | Paycor lists 1,500+ skills courses, 500+ compliance courses and 190+ healthcare courses |
| Best suited for | US companies of about 25 to 5,000 employees that want training assigned, renewed and provable on a rate they can read first | Paycor customers who want learning on the same login and employee record as payroll and HR |

The shortlist
Paycor LMS alternatives and what each one charges
Eight options a US Paycor customer weighs. Three publish a rate you can read today: CompanyLMS, TalentLMS and MoodleCloud. Go1 lists yearly prices in Paycor's Marketplace, but it is a course library rather than an LMS. The rest quote. Connector claims come from Paycor's Marketplace and each vendor's own integrations page.
| Platform | Best for | Pricing model | What stands out | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyLMS | US companies from about 25 to 5,000 employees that want training assigned, renewed and provable, on a rate they can see before buying | Published. Team $4 and Business $7 per active learner a month, or $3 and $6 billed annually. Team has a 25 learner minimum, Business 10. Enterprise $12. No implementation fee | Compliance training and certification tracking with automatic renewal reminders and a per-employee audit trail, bought without changing payroll | No named Paycor connector. Learners come in by CSV import, or by SSO and SCIM on Enterprise, and we play SCORM rather than xAPI |
| Paycor Learning Management | Paycor customers who want learning on the same record as payroll, onboarding and performance | Quoted with Paycor HCM. Not listed on any of the four small business bundle cards | Native employee data, automated assignment by job title or location, Quick Reports for assigned versus completed, and bundled libraries of 1,500+ skills, 500+ compliance and 190+ healthcare courses | Asked directly whether it is SCORM or xAPI compliant, Paycor names SCORM only. The price is set inside a wider HCM deal |
| Go1 | Paycor shops that want a large off-the-shelf course library without building content | Listed in Paycor's Marketplace from $1,575 a year (Essentials Select), $2,925 (Premium Essentials) and $20,100 (Premium Pro), billed per user yearly | Premium Essentials carries Paycor's Paycor Select badge and is delivered inside Paycor, so learners keep one login | A content subscription, not a tracking system. You still need Paycor Learning or another LMS to assign, track and certify |
| Relias | Healthcare and human services employers on Paycor | Quoted | Carries the Paycor Select badge, and Relias says it serves 12,000 healthcare and human services organizations | Built for clinical and care workforces. A general corporate training program will pay for depth it does not use |
| LearnUpon | Companies training several distinct audiences through separate portals | Quoted, with a published 100 user minimum | Names Paycor on its own integrations page and describes it as unifying learning and HR data | LearnUpon is not one of the LMS listings in Paycor's Marketplace, and its page does not say which fields sync. Ask for the connector document |
| Cornerstone | Large enterprises that want learning, performance and skills in one talent suite | Quoted. Cornerstone publishes no rate | Listed in Paycor's Marketplace with a published spec document | The listing is a Paycor Developer Services custom integration that Paycor must approve and "may be subject to additional fees". The spec is a nightly TXT file over sFTP, Paycor to Cornerstone |
| TalentLMS | Small and mid-sized teams that want a published rate and a fast start | Published. Core starts at $119 a month for 1 to 40 users, with bands up to 801 to 1,000 users | The whole price card is public, and SAML SSO and the API are on the cheapest paid tier | Paycor is not named on its integrations page and it has no Paycor Marketplace listing |
| MoodleCloud | Small, budget-bound programs that can live without any HR integration | Published annual plans from $160 for 50 users to $2,090 for 750. Australian dollars are the billed currency and the US figure is a conversion | The cheapest published per-user cost in the category | Its FAQ states you cannot install plugins or integrations on any plan, so there is no route to Paycor |
Pricing reflects each vendor's own pricing or help pages where they exist, and labelled third-party data where they do not. Most vendors quote privately, so treat ranges as planning anchors and confirm with each vendor.
Buying guide
Paycor Learning Management, read from Paycor's own pages
These facts come from Paycor's Learning Management System page, its plans and pricing pages, Paycor Marketplace listings and the spec documents attached to them, and Paychex filings on the acquisition.
Does Paycor have an LMS?
Yes. Paycor sells Paycor Learning Management, a module of Paycor HCM that sits under Talent Management next to Career Management, Paycor Paths and Pulse Surveys. Its product page describes self-paced courses on desktop and the Paycor Mobile app, an advanced course builder, learning paths by group, team, department or individual, automated alerts for completions, and leaderboards and badges.
It also bundles content. Paycor lists 1,500+ skills courses (leadership, sales, technology, personal development), 500+ compliance courses (data privacy, business ethics, health and safety, with audit-ready reports) and 190+ healthcare courses. Courses come in English, French, German, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese and Spanish, and Paycor says the compliance content is reviewed quarterly.
So the question for most buyers is not whether Paycor has an LMS. It is whether you want your training system priced, contracted and owned by your payroll vendor.
How much does Paycor LMS cost?
Paycor does not publish a price for Learning Management. The product page offers a consultation form and a phone number. Paycor's plans page splits buyers by size, and the two paths behave differently:
| Paycor small business bundle | Published price | Learning Management System listed? |
|---|---|---|
| Basic | $99 a month plus $5 per employee a month | No |
| Essential | $149 a month plus $7 per employee a month | No |
| Core | $199 a month plus $8 per employee a month | No |
| Complete | No price shown on the card | Not by name. The bundle lists Talent Development, Career Management and a Paths upgrade |
| Mid-market, 50 to 1,000+ employees | No price. "1 Month Free" offer on HCM Cor and a call | Not listed |
The small business cards are the only Paycor prices in public, and the Learning Management System is not a line on any of them. The mid-market path shows no price at all, only an offer of a free month of HCM Cor and a call. In practice the LMS is quoted per employee per month on top of a Paycor HCM agreement, and the figure you see depends on what else is in the deal.
That is the main reason Paycor customers look at a standalone LMS. Not because the module is weak, but because you cannot compare it with anything until a sales cycle has run.
Is Paycor LMS SCORM or xAPI compliant?
SCORM, yes. xAPI, Paycor does not say. Its own FAQ asks "Is Paycor's LMS SCORM or xAPI compliant?" and answers: "Yes, Paycor's LMS supports SCORM and mobile-first learning." The answer names one standard and skips the other, and nothing else on the page mentions xAPI, cmi5 or AICC.
For most corporate programs that is fine. Compliance libraries and authoring tools such as Articulate, Captivate and iSpring all export SCORM 1.2 and 2004. It matters if you track learning outside the LMS (simulations, field apps, a learning record store) or have vendor content that ships as xAPI only. In that case, ask Paycor in writing before you sign, and get the answer onto the order form.
For the record, CompanyLMS plays SCORM 1.2 and 2004 and does not play xAPI either. We would rather say that here than have you find out in week two.
Which LMS platforms integrate with Paycor?
Paycor's Marketplace is the honest place to check, because it says how each connector was built. Paycor uses a Paycor Select badge for standard integrations. Most learning listings do not carry it. They are built by Paycor Developer Services and carry the same warning: "this is a custom integration that must be approved by Paycor and may be subject to additional fees."
| Marketplace listing | Who built it | What Paycor says about it |
|---|---|---|
| Go1 Premium Essentials | Go1 | Paycor Select badge (Paycor's standard integration label). Course library delivered inside Paycor |
| Relias | Relias | Paycor Select badge. Healthcare and human services training |
| Go1 Essentials Select and Premium Pro | Go1 | Listed with yearly prices, no Paycor Select badge |
| Cornerstone | Paycor Developer Services | "Custom integration that must be approved by Paycor and may be subject to additional fees" |
| Wisetail | Paycor Developer Services | Same custom integration wording |
| Seismic Learning | Paycor Developer Services | Same custom integration wording |
| HealthStream, MedTrainer, VetBloom, Healthcare Academy | Paycor Developer Services | Same custom integration wording |
Outside the Marketplace, LearnUpon names Paycor on its own integrations page. Absorb, TalentLMS, 360Learning and Docebo did not mention Paycor on their integrations pages when we checked, and none of them has a learning listing in Paycor's Marketplace.
What a custom Paycor to LMS integration actually sends
The Cornerstone and Wisetail listings each attach a scope-of-work document, and they show what "integration" means here. For Wisetail, Paycor produces a CSV with a header row, sent by sFTP once a day at about 7 pm Eastern, with fields such as Paycor employee ID, legal and preferred name, birthday, hire date, work email, phone, job title, location, department, supervisor and FLSA status. Terminated employees are removed from the file. For Cornerstone, it is a TXT file sent daily at about 12 am Eastern, with a status map that keeps employees on FMLA or paid leave active and marks resigned, retired and terminated employees inactive.
Both files run one way, from Paycor to the LMS. Neither spec describes training completions flowing back into Paycor. That is a normal design for a provisioning feed, and it is fine if the LMS is where your training records live. It is a problem if someone expects to see certifications on the Paycor employee profile, so settle that before you pay for the build.
What the Paychex acquisition means for Paycor LMS buyers
Paychex completed its acquisition of Paycor on 14 April 2025, an all-cash deal at $22.50 a share and about $4.1 billion of enterprise value, according to Paychex's own filing. Paycor's site now carries a "Paychex Acquisition" page and a "Paycor + Paychex FAQs" link in its footer, and the Marketplace already lists a Paychex Flex Engage app.
Paychex told investors it expects more than $80 million of cost savings in fiscal 2026. Nothing we read announces a change to Paycor Learning Management. But a buyer signing a multi-year HCM deal today should treat the LMS roadmap as an open question, the same way buyers treated eloomi after Dayforce bought it, and ask three things in writing: how long the current module is supported, whether pricing is locked for the term, and how completion history is exported if the module changes.
What Paycor Learning Management does well

It is worth being fair, because for some companies it is the right answer.
If you already run Paycor, the integration you never build is a real saving every year. New hires appear without a file feed, assignments can follow job title or location automatically, and the bundled compliance and healthcare libraries mean a small HR team has courses on day one. Quick Reports show assigned versus completed for a course, and the Reporting Engine builds per-employee completion reports for an audit.
If your training is mostly role-based compliance, your content is SCORM, and your HR team already lives in Paycor, staying in the suite is reasonable. The case for a standalone LMS is a published price, a training contract that survives a payroll change, and certification tracking that renews on its own.
How to decide between Paycor LMS and a standalone LMS
The decision mostly follows what you already own and what you need to prove.
Stay with Paycor Learning Management if you are on Paycor HCM, you want the bundled course libraries, your content is SCORM, and a single login for payroll, onboarding and training matters more than seeing a price up front.
Add Go1 inside Paycor if the gap is content rather than tracking, since Go1 Premium Essentials carries the Paycor Select badge.
Choose a standalone LMS if you want the training budget separate from payroll, need certifications that expire and renew with an audit trail, train people who are not on Paycor (contractors, franchisees, seasonal staff), or simply want a rate you can read before the call.
| Training-only scenario, 120 employees | What you pay for | Year one, list price |
|---|---|---|
| CompanyLMS Business, billed annually | $6 per active learner a month, idle accounts not billed | $8,640 if all 120 train every month |
| CompanyLMS Team, billed annually | $3 per active learner a month, 25 learner minimum | $4,320 if all 120 train every month |
| Paycor Learning Management | Quoted as part of a Paycor HCM deal | Not published |
| Go1 Premium Essentials in Paycor | Content library only, needs an LMS to play in | From $2,925 a year as listed, per user pricing applies |
The CompanyLMS figures are our own published list prices. Paycor publishes no figure to compare against. Go1 is a content subscription, so its price sits on top of whichever LMS you choose.
Why teams pick CompanyLMS
One platform for courses, onboarding, compliance and certifications
A rate you can read before the call
Paycor Learning Management has no price on its product page or its plan cards, so the first number arrives inside an HCM quote. CompanyLMS publishes its per-learner rate on the pricing page and bills only the learners who were active that month.
Training bought by the person who runs it
With Paycor, the LMS is a line in a payroll and HR contract. CompanyLMS is bought on its own by HR, operations or L&D, and it keeps working the same way if payroll ever moves, which matters more than usual during the Paychex integration.
Certifications that renew themselves
CompanyLMS tracks expiry dates per employee, sends renewal reminders on its own and keeps an audit trail of who was assigned what, when they finished and what certificate they earned, ready to export as CSV when an auditor asks.
