Compare · Credit union training vendors
Best LMS for credit unions and compliance training software
The best LMS for a credit union assigns BSA, privacy and security training to every employee on the hire date, repeats it on a schedule, and gives you one record to hand an examiner.
Most vendors that sell to banks quote a price after a demo. CompanyLMS publishes $7 per learner seat a month ($3.50 billed annually), so a 75-person credit union can see the full bill before anyone talks to sales.
Courses, onboarding & compliance · one platform · per learner
Credit union training vendors mostly quote, and many bundle a fixed course library. CompanyLMS publishes a per learner seat price, lets you build courses from your own policies, assigns by branch and role, and keeps dated completion records and renewal reminders in one plan. Choose it when you want to own the content and the audit trail; choose a vendor with a prebuilt banking course library if buying finished courses matters more than controlling them.
Side by side
Credit union training vendors vs CompanyLMS, honestly
A fair look at what each does well. Both are capable tools. Here is where they differ.
| What matters | CompanyLMS | Credit union training vendors |
|---|---|---|
| How you pay | $7 per learner seat a month on Business, $3.50 billed annually, 10-learner minimum | Banking compliance libraries usually quote per employee or per institution; TalentLMS publishes user bands |
| Your own policies as courses | Build lessons and quizzes from your policy documents in Course Studio | Library vendors sell their courses; custom content may cost extra |
| Branches and roles | Teams by branch and department, paths by role and start date on Business | Available on most platforms, sometimes a higher tier |
| Annual retraining | Renewal intervals with reminders before the due date, CSV export of status | Varies; ask whether recurring assignment is included |
| Prebuilt banking courses | No finished BSA or Reg E course library; you build from your own material | Specialist vendors ship regulation-specific course catalogs |
| Implementation | Self-serve, workspace opens after checkout | Trainual requires a $1,000 fee; others include onboarding in the quote |

The shortlist
Credit union training options and how each one prices
Two of the three publish a rate. TalentLMS figures come from its pricing page and Trainual from its pricing page and FAQ, both read in September 2026; CompanyLMS is our own product.
| Platform | Best for | Published price | What stands out | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Trainual | Credit unions that run on written procedures, 25 to 1,000 employees | Quote only. $1,000 one-time implementation fee, marked required on every plan | Fast documentation of processes and roles, HR and payroll syncs with Gusto and BambooHR | No SCORM upload on Core; SSO from Premium |
| TalentLMS | Steady rosters of 40 to 500 people that fit inside a user band | Published. Core from $119 a month billed yearly for up to 40 users; Grow to 500 users; Pro to 1,000 | Lowest published sticker price at steady headcount | Crossing a band moves the whole plan; confirm how deactivated users count |
| CompanyLMS Business | Credit unions that want to build courses from their own policies and track annual retraining by branch and role | Published. $7 per learner seat a month, $3.50 billed annually, 10-learner minimum | Course Studio with quizzes, role paths, renewal reminders, compliance board and CSV export in one price | No prebuilt banking regulation course catalog; you supply the content |
Pricing reflects each vendor's own pricing or help pages where they exist, and labelled third-party data where they do not. Most vendors quote privately, so treat ranges as planning anchors and confirm with each vendor.

Credit union LMS pricing and buying guide
What credit union training software costs, what examiners expect to see, and how to choose for your size.
How much does credit union training software cost?
Credit union training software ranges from a published $119 a month for up to 40 users on TalentLMS to custom quotes from specialist vendors, and CompanyLMS Business is $7 per learner seat a month or $3.50 billed annually. Many banking compliance vendors do not print a rate, so the first real number often arrives after a demo.
Here is our arithmetic on CompanyLMS published rates for three typical credit union sizes. Other vendors quote, so no figure is invented for them.
| Seats | Billed annually at $3.50 | Billed monthly at $7 |
|---|---|---|
| 40 (small, two branches) | $1,680 a year | $3,360 a year |
| 100 (regional, five branches) | $4,200 a year | $8,400 a year |
| 250 (large, ten or more branches) | $10,500 a year | $21,000 a year |
Seat counts are examples. Size yours to the people who must be trained, and check the full rate card on the CompanyLMS pricing page.
What training does a credit union have to track?
A credit union needs dated proof that employees completed the training its compliance program calls for, and that the training repeats on a schedule. The usual list:
- BSA and AML. NCUA rules require a Bank Secrecy Act compliance program, and training of appropriate staff is one of its parts.
- Privacy and member data. Handling of member information under the Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act, covering what staff can say and share.
- Information security and fraud. Phishing, social engineering, and account-takeover red flags for tellers and member service staff.
- Lending and consumer rules. Fair lending and the disclosure rules that apply to your products.
- Role-specific procedures. Cash handling, wire procedures and opening accounts.
Your compliance officer sets the exact courses and intervals. Enter them once and each record tracks itself.
What do examiners and auditors want to see?
They want to see who was trained, on what, when, and what happened to anyone who was late. A shared folder of sign-in sheets answers the first half and almost never the second.
A platform record should show the course, the completion date, the quiz score and the due date for the next cycle, per employee. The compliance board in CompanyLMS lists everyone who is current, due or overdue, and the CSV export gives you the same view in a file. Read how compliance training software handles due dates and reminders before you shortlist.
Which option fits which credit union?
Pick by whether you want to buy finished courses or build your own, because every option here can assign, track and report.
- You want a ready banking course library and a vendor to maintain it: a specialist banking compliance vendor, which will quote.
- Procedures live in written documents and you want them taught: Trainual, with a required $1,000 implementation fee and quotes by team size.
- Lowest published sticker for a steady roster: TalentLMS user bands.
- Your own policies as tested courses, with annual retraining and a published per-person price: CompanyLMS Business.
Is CompanyLMS a good LMS for credit unions?
For a credit union compliance or HR lead who wants to turn existing policies into tested courses, assign them by branch and role, and keep annual retraining on schedule, yes, and the price is visible before you talk to anyone. Each branch is a team and the compliance board shows who is behind.
Where it is not the right pick: if you need a ready-made catalog of banking regulation courses written and updated by a vendor, buy that from a specialist and use an LMS only if you also need your own content. To see the build flow, open Course Studio above and paste a policy section. For the same pattern in another regulated business, see the best LMS for small medical device companies comparison.
Why teams pick CompanyLMS
One platform for courses, onboarding, compliance and certifications
Assigned on the hire date
New tellers, member service reps and loan officers get their required courses automatically, with a due date, instead of a checklist someone has to remember.
Annual cycles that repeat
BSA and AML, privacy, information security and fraud awareness each carry a renewal interval, and every record moves from current to due to overdue by itself.
Your policies, tested
Turn your own procedures into short lessons with a quiz and a pass mark, so the record shows people understood the material, not only that they opened it.
One export for the exam
Who completed what, on which date, with what score, as a CSV your compliance officer can hand to an examiner or an auditor.
