BambooHR LMS alternatives and BambooHR LMS integrations compared
BambooHR has no full LMS. Its Training tab records courses and due dates, and EasyLlama courses come by plan.
Here is what each LMS that connects to BambooHR costs.
Courses, onboarding & compliance · one platform · per active learner
BambooHR Training records completions and, by plan, adds 1, 15 or 300+ EasyLlama compliance courses, but it does not build or deliver your own courses. CompanyLMS is a standalone corporate LMS for onboarding, compliance and certification training, priced per active learner at $4 or $7 a month ($3 and $6 billed annually), with learners imported from BambooHR.
Side by side
BambooHR Training vs CompanyLMS, honestly
A fair look at what each does well. Both are capable tools. Here is where they differ.
| What matters | CompanyLMS | BambooHR Training |
|---|---|---|
| Published price | $4 per active learner a month on Team, $7 on Business, $3 and $6 billed annually, Enterprise $12 | No separate price. Courses come with the HR plan at $10.25, $17.50 or $25 per employee a month |
| Who is billed | Only learners who were active that month | Every employee on the HR plan, whether they train or not |
| Your own courses | Built-in course authoring, templates, video and PDF lessons, quizzes | No course builder. You can add PDFs and policies into EasyLlama courses |
| Ready-made courses | Templates you edit, no bundled library | 1 course on Core, 15 on Pro, 300+ on Elite, powered by EasyLlama |
| BambooHR employee data | CSV learner import on every plan, SSO and SCIM on Enterprise | Native, the employee record is already there |
| Certificates and renewals | Expiry dates per employee, automatic renewal reminders, exportable audit trail | Recurring due dates, email alerts and downloadable EasyLlama certificates |
| Best suited for | US companies of about 25 to 5,000 employees that train on their own content and want a rate they can read first | BambooHR customers whose training is mostly off-the-shelf compliance |

The shortlist
BambooHR LMS alternatives and what each one charges
Eight options a US company on BambooHR weighs. Four publish a figure you can read today: CompanyLMS, BambooHR, TalentLMS and Tovuti LMS. The other four quote. Sync claims come from each vendor's BambooHR Marketplace listing, read in October 2026.
| Platform | Best for | Pricing model | What stands out | Watch out for |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| CompanyLMS | US companies from about 25 to 5,000 employees that train on their own onboarding, compliance and certification content | Published. Team $4 and Business $7 per active learner a month, or $3 and $6 billed annually. Team has a 25 learner minimum, Business 10. Enterprise $12. No implementation fee | Course authoring, role-based paths, certificates with automatic renewal reminders and a per-employee audit trail, billed only for active learners | No BambooHR Marketplace listing. Learners come in by CSV import, or by SSO and SCIM on Enterprise, and completions are not written back to BambooHR |
| BambooHR Training with EasyLlama | BambooHR customers whose training is mostly off-the-shelf compliance | Published HR plan rates of $10.25, $17.50 or $25 per employee a month, with 1, 15 or 300+ courses | Nothing to install, assignment by role, department or location, recurring due dates and reminders inside BambooHR | No course builder or SCORM player, and more courses means a higher plan for every employee |
| TalentLMS | Small and mid-sized teams that want a published rate and a two-way BambooHR sync | Published. Core starts at $119 a month for 1 to 40 users, with bands up to 801 to 1,000 users | Writes the training completion date and hours back to BambooHR by default | Priced in user bands, so you pay for the top of the band you fall into |
| Tovuti LMS | Mid-sized companies that want certificates and course catalogs mirrored in BambooHR | Published starting price of $7,500 a year for the first 100 annual learners, then quoted | The deepest BambooHR sync we read: completions, hours, course catalog and certificates with expiry dates both ways, plus SSO deep links | An annual commitment, and the listing was last updated in 2023, so confirm the field map |
| Absorb LMS | Mid-market companies that want broad field mapping and strong reporting | Quoted. No rates published | Maps almost any BambooHR field and passes course completion data back to BambooHR | The listing targets 26 to 500 employees and the price arrives after a sales cycle |
| Cornerstone Galaxy Accelerate | Fast-growing companies over 250 employees that want a curated content library | Quoted. No price on the listing | Bi-directional sync of people and org units in, completed trainings with date and hours back | Only completed trainings sync back, so overdue status stays in Cornerstone |
| LearnUpon | Companies training several audiences through separate portals | Quoted, with a published 100 user minimum | Adds users by hire or start date and disables them when they go inactive in BambooHR | Completions are not listed as syncing back to BambooHR |
| SkyPrep | Mid-sized companies that want an LMS with both BambooHR and Paycom connectors | Quoted. Plans start at 100+ active users and the pricing page has shown no dollar figure since 2022 | Creates and removes accounts and auto-assigns groups by department and role | Completions are not listed as syncing back to BambooHR, and API and SSO sit in Premium |
Pricing reflects each vendor's own pricing or help pages where they exist, and labelled third-party data where they do not. Most vendors quote privately, so treat ranges as planning anchors and confirm with each vendor.
Buying guide
BambooHR training, read from BambooHR's own pages
These facts come from BambooHR's pricing page, its Training help article, its Compliance Training listing and the Learning and Training category of the BambooHR Marketplace.
Does BambooHR have an LMS?
Not a full one. BambooHR has a Training module that records training, and it sells BambooHR Compliance Training, powered by EasyLlama, a set of ready-made compliance courses that run inside your BambooHR account. What it does not have is a course builder for your own onboarding or product training, learning paths, or a player for SCORM files you already own.
BambooHR's own help center describes the Training module as a place to "set up training by adding trainings and training categories," view them in Upcoming and Completed tables, and "record a training as completed from the employee profile" or in bulk with the power edit tool. Past-due dates show in orange. Email alerts remind people. That is a training record, not a training delivery system.
| What you need | BambooHR Training plus EasyLlama | A standalone LMS |
|---|---|---|
| Record that a training happened, with a date | Yes, from the profile or in bulk | Yes, automatically on completion |
| Recurring due dates and reminders | Yes, with email alerts and orange past-due dates | Yes |
| Ready-made compliance courses | 1, 15 or 300+ EasyLlama courses depending on plan | Depends on the vendor; many sell libraries separately |
| Your own onboarding, SOP or product courses | Only by adding PDFs and policies into EasyLlama courses | Yes, built in an authoring tool or uploaded |
| SCORM packages you already own | Not listed | Yes on most platforms |
| Learning paths by role | Courses assigned by role, department or location | Yes, ordered paths with prerequisites |
| Certificates | Downloadable on EasyLlama courses | Yes, with expiry and renewal |
So the honest answer to "does BambooHR have an LMS" is that it has the two ends of one: a compliance course library and a place to log completions. Everything in the middle, the courses that are specific to your company, comes from somewhere else.
How much does BambooHR training cost?
BambooHR does not sell training on its own. The courses come with the HR plan, and the HR plan is priced per employee. BambooHR's pricing FAQ gives the rates: "$10.25 USD per employee per month for Core, $17.50 USD per employee per month for Pro, and $25 USD per employee per month for Elite," with volume discounts applied automatically. Companies of 25 employees or fewer pay a flat $250, $425 or $650 a month.
The course count is what changes between plans. Core includes one EasyLlama course on harassment prevention. Pro includes 15, covering topics such as harassment and discrimination prevention and cyber security. Elite includes 300+.
That makes the cost of BambooHR training the difference between plans, not a training line item. Our arithmetic at the published list rates, before volume discounts:
| Company size | Core to Pro, for 15 courses | Core to Elite, for 300+ courses |
|---|---|---|
| 20 employees (flat rate) | $175 a month more, $2,100 a year | $400 a month more, $4,800 a year |
| 120 employees | $870 a month more, $10,440 a year | $1,770 a month more, $21,240 a year |
| 400 employees | $2,900 a month more, $34,800 a year | $5,900 a month more, $70,800 a year |
Pro and Elite also add performance management, compensation tools and more, so the whole gap is not a training price. But if a library of compliance courses is the reason you are looking at an upgrade, it is the number to hold up against a separate LMS. For comparison, CompanyLMS Business is $7 per active learner a month, or $6 billed annually, and it bills only people who trained that month.
Which LMS integrates with BambooHR?
More than in most HR suites. BambooHR's Marketplace lists 16 third-party apps in its Learning and Training category, plus its own EasyLlama-powered compliance training. We read each LMS listing in October 2026; the table shows what each one says syncs.
| LMS on the BambooHR Marketplace | Employee data into the LMS | Completions back to BambooHR | Listing notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Absorb | Yes. Almost any BambooHR field can be mapped | Yes. "Absorb LMS passes course completion data back to BambooHR" | Listed for 26 to 500 employees |
| TalentLMS | Yes, matched on Employee # | Yes. Training completion date and training hours, by default | Listed for 26 to 501+ employees |
| Tovuti LMS | Yes, configurable field by field | Yes. Completion dates and hours, and certificates sync both ways | 10% discount for BambooHR customers |
| Cornerstone Galaxy Accelerate | Yes, employees and org units | Yes. Only completed trainings, with completion date and hours | Built for organizations over 250 employees |
| LearnUpon | Yes. Adds users by hire or start date and disables them when inactive | Not listed | Listed for 101 to 500 employees |
| SkyPrep | Yes. Creates and removes accounts, auto-assigns groups | Not listed | Listed for 101 to 501+ employees |
| Trainual | Yes, hourly, with role and department | Not listed | 10% off the first year |
| WorkRamp | Yes. Provisions and removes licenses from synced fields | Not listed | 25% discount off licensing |
| Litmos | Yes. Pushes employees in as learners, on demand or by webhook | Not listed | Listed for 26 to 501+ employees |
The other listings in the category are Northpass (now sold as Skilljar by Gainsight, see our Northpass pricing note), Learn Amp, Travitor, ProProfs Training Maker, BIS Safety Software, and the compliance course vendors EasyLlama and Traliant. Two big names are not in the category at all: Docebo and 360Learning had no BambooHR listing when we checked, although 360Learning's own pricing FAQ names BambooHR among its HRIS connections, so ask it how that sync works. SkyPrep's plan rules are in our SkyPrep pricing breakdown.
BambooHR LMS integration and the completion sync
The single question that sorts these connectors is whether training completions come back into BambooHR. Every listing above sends people into the LMS. Only four say they write completions back: Absorb, TalentLMS, Tovuti LMS and Cornerstone Galaxy Accelerate.
That matters if BambooHR is where your auditors, managers or HR generalists look. With a one-way sync, the LMS holds the training record and BambooHR does not, so a manager checking an employee profile sees nothing in the Training tab. With a write-back, the LMS completion lands in BambooHR as a completed training with a date and, on most of these, the hours.
Read the field tables before you sign. Cornerstone's listing says "only completed trainings will be synched into BambooHR," so in-progress and overdue status stays in Cornerstone. TalentLMS writes the completion date and the course time, rounded. Tovuti goes furthest: it creates the courses and course categories in BambooHR and syncs certificates with their expiration dates in both directions.
A practical alternative to a write-back is to keep BambooHR as the source of people data and treat the LMS as the system of record for training. That is how CompanyLMS works: import learners from a BambooHR report by CSV on any plan, or provision them with SSO and SCIM on Enterprise, and run assignments, completions, certificates and renewal reminders in one place with a per-employee audit trail you can export.
BambooHR training tracking vs an LMS

The Training tab is enough if your training happens somewhere else and you only need proof it happened: a forklift class at a vendor, a CPR card, a state-mandated harassment course from EasyLlama. Set the training up with a recurring frequency, record completions in bulk, and let the email alerts chase people.
You need an LMS when the training itself is yours: new-hire onboarding by role, SOPs, product knowledge, safety procedures specific to your sites, sales certification. BambooHR cannot deliver those courses, test people on them, or issue a certificate that renews itself. It can only record that someone told it they finished.
The tell is usually the spreadsheet. If someone on your team keeps a sheet of who watched which onboarding video so they can type completions into BambooHR, the Training tab is being used as an LMS it is not. That is exactly the job certification tracking software and a corporate LMS take over.
How to choose an LMS for a BambooHR company
Stay with BambooHR Training if your needs are compliance courses plus records, and you are already on, or happy to pay for, the plan with the course count you need.
Pick a connector with completion write-back (Absorb, TalentLMS, Tovuti, Cornerstone) if BambooHR must stay the one place anyone checks training status. Budget accordingly: Absorb and Cornerstone quote, Tovuti starts at $7,500 a year for 100 annual learners, and TalentLMS publishes band pricing.
Pick a priced standalone LMS if the LMS will be the training system of record, you want a rate you can read before a sales call, and you want certifications delivered, tracked and renewed in the same place. CompanyLMS is built for that: $4 or $7 per active learner a month, learners imported from BambooHR by CSV, and compliance and onboarding paths ready to assign. Try it in the course builder above before you talk to anyone.
If you are comparing HR suites as well, our notes on Paycom LMS alternatives, Paycor LMS alternatives and ADP LMS alternatives cover how the other payroll vendors handle training.
Why teams pick CompanyLMS
One platform for courses, onboarding, compliance and certifications
Pay for learners, not headcount
BambooHR courses ride on a per-employee HR plan, so upgrading for training reprices every employee. CompanyLMS bills only learners who trained that month, and idle accounts cost nothing.
Your onboarding, not just compliance
Role-based onboarding paths, SOPs and product training are built in CompanyLMS in minutes, which is the part BambooHR Training cannot deliver.
Certifications that renew themselves
CompanyLMS tracks expiry per employee, sends renewal reminders on its own and keeps an audit trail of assignments, completions and certificates, ready to export as CSV.
