TalentLMS vs Litmos Pricing at 25, 100 and 500 Users

TalentLMS publishes every band, from $1,428 a year for Core. Litmos now prints only starting prices, $8K a year for Foundation and $15K for Platinum. Here is what each costs at 25, 100 and 500 users and when the higher price is worth it.

Entry price per year, TalentLMS against Litmos. TalentLMS Core costs 1,428 dollars a year for 1 to 40 users and 2,628 dollars for 71 to 100 users. TalentLMS Grow costs 4,428 dollars a year for 401 to 500 users. Litmos Foundation starts at 8,000 dollars a year and Litmos Platinum at 15,000 dollars a year.Lowest published yearly price, TalentLMS against LitmosBoth vendors' own pricing pages, billed yearlyTalentLMS Core, 1 to 40 users$1,428TalentLMS Core, 71 to 100 users$2,628TalentLMS Grow, 401 to 500 users$4,428Litmos Foundation, from$8,000Litmos Platinum, from$15,000Litmos does not say how many users its starting prices cover. TalentLMS is far cheaper than Litmos for small and mid-sized teams. TalentLMS publishes every price: Core is $1,428 a year for up to 40 users and Grow is $4,428 a year for 401 to 500 users. Litmos now prints only starting prices, $8,000 a year for Foundation and $15,000 a year for Platinum, with Platinum AI and the real per-user figure left to its sales team.

That last part is new. Until late September 2026 every Litmos plan said "Contact for Pricing", which is why most comparison pages still tell you Litmos publishes nothing. The plans page was updated on 30 September and now carries the two floors. Both vendors' pages were read on 9 October 2026 for this article.

The TalentLMS numbers come from the structured price list on its own pricing page, which lists every band for monthly and yearly billing. The Litmos numbers are the only figures on the Litmos plans page. If you want every TalentLMS band, our TalentLMS pricing page has the full table, and Litmos pricing goes through what each Litmos tier holds.

What TalentLMS and Litmos cost at 25, 100 and 500 users

Here is the yearly bill at three company sizes, using the cheapest plan that fits. TalentLMS figures are exact. Litmos figures are the published floors, because Litmos does not say how many users $8K or $15K buys, so read them as the least you will pay, not the quote you will get.

Users who train each monthTalentLMS, cheapest fitLitmos FoundationLitmos PlatinumCompanyLMS Team, billed yearly
25$1,428 (Core, 1 to 40)$8,000 or more$15,000 or more$900
100$2,628 (Core, 71 to 100)$8,000 or more$15,000 or more$3,600
500$4,428 (Grow, 401 to 500; Core stops at 100)$8,000 or more$15,000 or more$18,000

Read the table honestly. At 25 users Litmos costs at least five times what TalentLMS does, and at 100 users at least three times. At 500 users the gap narrows only if Litmos's floor really covers that many people, which you will learn on the call. TalentLMS wins on price at every size here.

Two things move these numbers. TalentLMS bands are flat, so 41 users cost the same as 70, and the 41st person adds $480 a year on Core. And Litmos's page lists a long row of "Add-ons available", including implementation services and content libraries, so the starting price is the platform before any of those. Third-party reports have put Litmos implementation at $8,000 to $25,000; Litmos does not publish or confirm that.

We put CompanyLMS in the last column because it is the third option most teams in this comparison look at. It is the cheapest of the three at 25 people. At 100 and 500, TalentLMS's bands spread one fee across everyone inside them and come out cheaper on paper than a per-learner rate, so if price per head is your only criterion, TalentLMS wins there too.

Is TalentLMS cheaper than Litmos?

Yes, for any team under several hundred users the published numbers make TalentLMS the cheaper platform by a wide margin. Its Core plan is $1,428 a year for up to 40 users, while Litmos starts at $8,000 a year for Foundation. Litmos only becomes comparable when your quote spreads its floor across a large user count, and that count is not published.

Cheaper is not the same as right. Litmos is built for companies that train several audiences from one platform. Its plan matrix gives Foundation full SSO, self sign-up and roles, plus uploads of SCORM, xAPI and AICC content, but only partial multi-audience configuration (branded portals, multi-tenant), partial compliance management and partial integrations. The full versions, native SCORM authoring, sandbox environments and extra API packages start at Platinum, which is why the realistic floor for a multi-audience or integrated rollout is $15,000 rather than $8,000. TalentLMS is built for a training manager who wants a course live this week and a price on a card.

When Litmos is worth the higher price

Pay for Litmos when one or more of these is true. You train customers or partners as well as staff and need separate portals or tenants. You run training inside Salesforce. You want Litmos's own premium compliance and capability content and would rather buy it from the LMS vendor than license a second library. Or your security review expects a sandbox, managed services and an enterprise contract, which a self-serve tool cannot give you.

If none of that applies, you are paying a floor of $8,000 to $15,000 a year for capacity you will not use. Before you sign either one, it is worth reading what admins of both platforms say in independent SaaS reviews, because day-to-day reporting and support quality rarely show up on a pricing page.

When TalentLMS is the better buy, and when neither is

TalentLMS is the better buy for a single company training its own employees, with a few hundred users or fewer, that wants to start on a free plan and upgrade by card. Watch the bands: if you sit just above a band edge, you pay for the whole next band, and moving from Core to Grow or Pro for one feature resets your band to a more expensive plan.

Neither is ideal if your training group changes month to month, or if what you need most is certificates that expire and renew. TalentLMS charges by band and Litmos sells annual floors, so both bill you for capacity rather than for the people who actually trained. CompanyLMS bills only learners active in a month, at $4 on Team or $7 on Business ($3 and $6 billed annually), and every plan includes expiry dates and renewal reminders on certifications. You can build the first course in the studio above and see CompanyLMS pricing without booking a call. If you are still shortlisting, the TalentLMS alternatives and Litmos alternatives comparisons cover the wider field, and teams on HiBob can read which of these LMS platforms connect to it on our HiBob LMS alternatives page.

Questions buyers ask before choosing

How much does Litmos cost per user?

Litmos does not publish a per-user rate. Its plans page shows Foundation starting at $8,000 a year and Platinum at $15,000 a year, with Platinum AI quoted, and it does not say how many users those floors include. Ask the rep for the user count, the counting rule and the renewal cap in writing.

Does TalentLMS have a free plan?

Yes. TalentLMS has a free plan for up to 5 users and 10 courses, with no credit card and no time limit. It is enough to build and test a course, but any real team will need Core at $119 a month billed yearly or $149 billed monthly.

Is Litmos the same as SAP Litmos?

Yes. Litmos was part of SAP for several years and is still widely searched as SAP Litmos. The product now sells under the Litmos name, and its terms are issued by Litmos US, L.P.

Which is better for compliance training, TalentLMS or Litmos?

Litmos is deeper for compliance at enterprise scale. Its assessments and compliance management row (e-signatures, surveys, learner uploads, enrollment approvals and escalations) is full on Platinum and partial on Foundation, and its own premium compliance content is an add-on on every tier. TalentLMS covers assignment, tests and reports at a far lower price. If expiring certifications are the core of your program, compare both against a tool with expiry dates and renewal reminders built in.
